The 48th annual Danish Festival in Greenville has a few new features, including a new event called Art at the Green, which will highlight a public voting competition among artist, local and non-local.

This year’s theme is “The Snow Queen,” based on a book by Hans Christian Andersen. First published in 1845, “The Snow Queen” centers on the struggle between good and evil as experienced by a little boy and girl, Kai and Gerda.  The story is one of Andersen’s longest, told in a series of seven stories, and is considered by many as one of his best.
