This year’s class of graduates at Montcalm Community College were reminded of the importance of two things as they enter the job market: a firm handshake and a willingness to thank those who have helped get them where they are today.
The Montcalm Area Intermediate School District millage vote on Tuesday may say “special education” on the ballot, but the issue affects all children in Montcalm County. Tuesday’s proposal will ask voters whether to restore the MAISD’s special ed millage — currently 2.1878 mills — to 2.50, as well as add another mill for a total of 3.50 mills.

In association with Arbor Day, and achieving Ellis Elementary School’s goal of achieving “Green School” status, students at the school planted trees and flowers throughout the school grounds Wednesday morning.
On Tuesday, voters within the Carson City-Crystal Area Schools district will decide whether the district will receive a major overhaul to the tune of nearly $11 million in the form of a bond proposal.
