At the behest of the Ionia County Election Committee, recall petition language submitted toward Belding City Councilman Joe Feuerstein was denied Tuesday morning in an unanimous vote during a clarity/factual review session at the Ionia County Courthouse.
The Lakeview Wildcats baseball team struggled to find consistency in its season this year. Part of the inconsistency was due to the awful weather in April, which forced the cancelations of practices and many early season games.

Fourteen area students who might otherwise have fallen between the academic cracks instead graduated Tuesday evening in a ceremony held at Greenville High School.

This was what was on the mind of city of Greenville officials when they opted to wait no longer for a countywide effort for funding local economic development, which has helped move forward a contract between the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce and The Right Place for economic development in the Greenville area.
Local officials are still trying to figure out how to make Montcalm County “the right place” for progressive marketing. An economic development discussion took place Monday evening at Montcalm Community College, hosted by MCC President Bob Ferrentino and Vice President of Academic Affairs Rob Spohr. About three dozen local business and government officials attended the gathering to talk about the growth and advancement of commerce in Montcalm County.

West Michigan Whitecaps fans have a knack for smelling victory and this particular steamy evening in May was no exception. Starting pitcher Jonathan Crawford had just wrapped up six masterfully thrown innings and pitching coach Mike Henneman was looking for just one thing. Strikeouts.
Belding’s softball team made it six straight Division 2 district titles on Saturday at their own field. Winning six straight district titles has not been lost on coach Mikayla Linebaugh, who has coached the Redskins for all six of those titles.
