Belding’s wrestling team had nine of the 14 wrestlers it entered into the O-K Blue Conference wrestling championships place. Despite having only three conference champions, that was good enough for coach Travis Meyer.

Firefighters from four area fire departments battled a Sunday fire believed to have started around 10:30 a.m. in the basement of a home at 11491 W. Carson City Road (M-57).


JUST IN: Garage, boats, vehicles destroyed in Sunday fire in Amble

Several vehicles and a garage were destroyed by an early afternoon fire Sunday in Amble. Amble Fire Chief Bill Knapp said the blaze, the cause of which is unknown at this point, caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to the garage, two vehicles parked next to it, and two boats and multiple four-wheelers parked inside the garage at 11300 N. Paris Road.

Greenville girls pull away in fourth quarter

The Greenville Yellow Jackets girls basketball team won a conference title last year for the first time since 1990. On Friday night, the Yellow Jackets took a another step toward winning a second consecutive O-K Bronze title with a 51-40 win over Forest Hills Eastern (9-5, 3-1).
