Greenville woman dies after motorcycle accident in Ionia

IONIA — A Greenville woman died Wednesday night after colliding with a car while riding a motorcycle.

Michigan State Police troopers from the Ionia Post are investigating the accident, which occurred at 10:10 p.m. at the intersection of M-66 and Dildine Road.

The 33-year-old Greenville woman was traveling north on M-66 when she collided with a car pulling onto northbound M-66 from Dildine Road. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was a 19-year-old male from Ionia. He was treated for minor injuries at Sparrow Hospital of Ionia.

Names will be released pending notification of family members.

Troopers were assisted on the scene by the Ionia Department of Public Safety, the Ionia County Sheriff’s Department and Life EMS.

According to the State Police, alcohol does not appear to be a factor at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
