RJ’s Sports Bar/Sports Galore wins Danish championship

Schnepp and Sons entered the Danish Festival men’s softball championship game undefeated. Their opponent, RJ’s Sports Bar/Sports Galore, had one loss. To win a championship, RJ’s Sports Bar/Sports Galore needed two wins against Schnepp and Sons on Sunday afternoon. They did just that win the tournament title with an 8-1 record.

Dirks begins rehab, just wants to play baseball

Andy Dirks is back in a West Michigan Whitecaps uniform. The Detroit Tigers outfielder came back to the Whitecaps on Friday as the start of a rehabilitation assignment that will last the entire weekend and through Wednesday with the ‘Caps.

As the name of Wynton Bernard echoes through the concourse at Fifth Third Ballpark, his purposeful jog out to take his position in the outfield is something that is sure to not lose its significance to him or the fans any time soon. As the youngest of three sons to Walter and Janet Bernard, the Poway, Calif. native’s journey to pursue the game of baseball became a family affair from the beginning.

THE REVIEW: One-game exhibition turns into much more

As the city of Chicago gathered to plan out the 1933 centennial celebration of the birth of the city, they set out to feature an experience that the locals would not soon forget. The monumental occasion came in the form of the World’s Fair and was held on 427 acres of land stretching along the shore of Lake Michigan. The fair featured some of the most cutting edge exhibits including a visit from the German airship, the Graf Zeppelin.

It was just yesterday morning, I was mocking the continuous coverage by ESPN of LeBron James and his lack of a decision regarding a future playing home. I was tired of hearing about no news as if it was new news. As of Friday morning, there was no information from James on what his decision was going to be or even when that decision was coming.
