Morley-Stanwood 61, Lakeview 51: The Wildcats saw their four-game losing streak snapped at home by the Mohawks Friday night. CC-Crystal 49, Saranac 46: The Eagles led 32-20 after three quarters but had to withstand a furious rally by the Redskins to win this CMAC game Friday night. Mitchell Schneider led CC-Crystal with 13, Isaac Torres added 12 and Brann Schmitt added 11. Quote: “The third quarter we put a lot of pressure on and they (Saranac) scored two points. Central Montcalm 48, Holton 43: The Green Hornets kept the Red Devils at just one win this season after a CSAA win Friday night. Alex Maxted led Central with 15 points and Jared Cilibraise added 10 for the Hornets. Records: 6-11 and 6-8. Next game: at home against Chippewa Hills Tuesday.
Tri County 52, Newaygo 47: The Vikings picked up a win in their last game against the Lions in the Lakes 8 Conference, as the Lions move to the CSAA next year. Geneva Keech led four Vikings in scoring with 32 and Alexis Firovich scored 16 more for 48 of the 52 Tri County points. Next game: at Ludington next Friday.
Central Montcalm 64, Holton 48: The Green Hornets outscored the Red Devils 25-5 in the third quarter to break open the game and beat Holton in a CSAA game Friday night. Kortney McKeown scored 15 and Karli Clark added 10 for Central. Quote: “The third quarter was the difference. The girls came out at halftime and executed well.” – Central coach Marty James.
