Boys basketball
Morley-Stanwood 66, Central Montcalm 53: The Green Hornets finished fifth in the CSAA after losing to the Mohawks in the final conference game Friday night. Will Plavan led Central with nine and Forest Bartz added eight more. Records: 7-12 and 7-9. Next game: at home against Vestaburg Tuesday.
Girls basketball
Belding 54, Coopersville 38: The Redskins used a 16-7 first quarter to jump on the Broncos in an O-K Blue Conference game Friday night. Stefanie Harig led Belding with 19 points and McKenzie Breimayer added 16 in the win. Records: 6-14 and 3-9. Next game: at Tri County Monday for the Class B district tournament against the host Vikings.
Morley-Stanwood 73, Central Montcalm 32: The Green Hornets were the final victim of the Mohawks, who finished the season with a perfect 20-0 record and a No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press Class C poll. Michaela Crooks was Central’s top scorer with nine points. Records: 7-13 and 6-10. Next game: at Tri County Wednesday for the Class B district tournament.
