Girls basketball
Northview 53, Greenville 34: The Yellow Jackets trailed but just three points at halftime, but the Wildcats outscored the Yellow Jackets 26-11 in the second half for the win on Saturday in the regular season finale. Mackenzy Nichols and Britta Bernth led Greenville with eight points. Leah Somerfield and Katie Dunham each had six points. Records: 11-9, 3-7. Next game: against Rockford on Monday at Northview for districts.
Vestaburg 62, Ashley 35: The Wolverines closed out their regular season with an MSAC win over the Bears Saturday. Emma Schuch led Vestaburg with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Taylor Darmody chipped in 12 points. Records: 10-9 and 4-4. Next game: at home Monday against St. Louis in the Class C district tournament.
Reed City 55, Lakeview 51: The Wildcats lost their final game of the regular season to the Coyotes Saturday afternoon. Leading Lakeview was Andrea Henry with 16 points and Megan Leach with 15. Records: 13-7 and 8-6. Next game: at Tri County Monday against Chippewa Hills in the Class B district tournament.
Boys basketball
Reed City 78, Lakeview 45: The Wildcats ended the CSAA portion of their schedule with a home loss to the Coyotes Saturday afternoon. Shawn Lindsey led Lakeview with 18 points followed by Brad Root with 10. Records: 7-13 and 6-10. Next game: at Grant Tuesday.
Fowler 56, CC-Crystal 50: The Eagles lost to the “other” Eagles in a CMAC game Friday night. Maxx Jolls had 20 points and Brann Schmitt added 13 more for CC-Crystal. Records: 10-8 and 8-8. Next game: at Potterville Tuesday.
