Belding sweeps Mohawks: The Redskins earned two wins on the road against Morley Stanwood Wednesday afternoon. Game one was 5-2. Ron VanDyke picked up the win. He went seven innings, allowing one earned run with eight strikeouts. Seth Nelson, Todd Haller and Tyler Daller each had two hits. Game two was 3-1. Kole Hart earned the win in seven innings of work. Lakeview 3, Big Rapids 1: The Wildcats and Cardinals were in a scoreless tie at halftime in a tough CSAA road battle on Wednesday. Lakeview and Big Rapids traded goals, before the Wildcats found the net for their last two goals in the win. Nele Tarras scored twice for the Wildcats while Megan Leach added the other goal. Ally Reed had two assists and Katie Johnson one assist. Danielle Grant made 10 saves for Lakeview. Quote: “We played together again tonight. We passed well and had good communication. Belding defeats Ionia: The Redskins topped the Bulldogs in a nonconference dual at Shadow Ridge 184-187 on Wednesday. Cody Christensen led the Redskins with a 39. Greenville 6, GR Creston 1: The Yellow Jackets won their second match of the week with an O-K White win over the Polar Bears on Wednesday. Singles winners for Greenville were No. 1 Marina Rupp (3-6, 6-4, 6-4) and No. 3 Rebecca Dakin (6-1, 6-3). Alex Wagner at No. 2 was leading her opponent in the third set when rain forced the match to end. Greenville sweeped all four of the doubles matches. No. 1 Grace Fowler/Rebekah Hamman won 6-1, 6-1; No. 2 Lizzy VanderLaan/Shalom Paulino won 6-0, 6-0; No. 3 Courtney Pierson/Julia Hansen won 6-0, 6-1 and No. 4 Grace Beckman/Teresa Larez won 6-0, 6-0.
