Baseball

EGR 6, Tri County 4: The Vikings lost on the road to the Pioneers on Friday night. Andy Thompson suffered the loss in three innings. He gave up five hits and three walks in defeat. Brandon Peterman led the Vikings with three hits. Record: 8-7. Next: vs. Grant at Fifth Third Ballpark on Monday.

Lakeview 0-2: The Wildcats lost in a doubleheader at Chippewas Hills on Friday night. The Warriors won game one 6-1. Kyler Ridgeway suffered the loss, allowing seven hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out six. Beau Moore went 2-for-3. Game two was a 6-2 final in favor of the Warriors. Damien Beckett took the loss in six innings. He allowed five hits while striking out five. Jordan Stephens  and Ridgeway each had two hits. Records: 2-7 (1-6). Next: at home Tuesday against Hesperia.

Softball

Lakeview splits: The Wildcats split a doubleheader with Chippewa Hills on Friday. The Wildcats won game one 8-7. Andrea Henry knocked in the winning run with a groundout in the eighth inning. Erin Vanderzand earned the win going all eight innings. Henry finished with four hits. Keelie Outman was 3-for-4 with a 2-run home run, Sadie Massey and Liz Nielsen each had two hits. Game two was an 8-4 win for Chippewa Hills. Massey took the loss. Estelle Molitor went 2-for-2 while Henry had two more hits in game two. Records: 8-5 (5-3). Next: at home vs. Hesperia on Tuesday.

Soccer

Lakeview ties: The Wildcats finished in a 2-2 tie with Big Rapids Cross Roads Academy on Friday. Ally Reed scored both Lakeview goals while Tori Nielsen had two assists. Danielle Grant made four saves. Record: 5-3-2. Next: at home against Clare on Tuesday.

Golf

Hornets 2nd: Central Montcalm placed second in the Gold division of the Huskie (Breckenridge) Invitational on Friday afternoon. Central Montcalm shot 325 to finish behind Ithaca’s 311. Hemlock was third in the same division with 347. Three Hornets placed in the top ten led by Jared Cilibraise with a 79. Ryan Michalek (80) and Tyler Sleet (81) also placed in the top 10. Tyler Johnson shot an 85. Next: at the Links of Edmore against Montabella on Wednesday.

Mustangs 4th: The Montabella Mustangs placed fourth in the Blue division of the Huskie (Breckenridge) Invitational on Friday afternoon. The Mustangs shot 391. Fulton was first in the Blue division with 345. Ithaca shot 311 to win the Gold division. Michael Hyde led the Mustangs with 94. Austin Huber shot 98, Parker Eldred 99 and Trent Sabin 100. Next: at home against Central Montcalm on Wednesday.
