Morley Stanwood 5, Lakeview 3: The Wildcats were eliminated from the Newaygo district by the Mohawks Saturday. Kyler Ridgeway pitched all seven innings for Lakeview and scattered seven hits, walking three and striking out four. Joe Cole and Cory Hamlin had two hits each for the Wildcats. Record: 7-23. Next: Lakeview’s season is over.

Tri County loses final: The Vikings were big winners over Big Rapids 14-4 in the Cardinals’ district tournament Saturday, but Tri County lost 5-2 to Chippewa Hills in the finals. Against Big Rapids Cody Dines got the win, allowing seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Tyler Burns, Devin Longoria and Cody Mitz had two hits each in the win. But in the loss to the Warriors Brandon Peterman allowed six hits and three strikeouts in six innings to take the loss. Mitz, Dines, Sam Nagy and Dustin Ruppert had two hits each in the loss. Record: 18-18. Next: Tri County’s season is over.

Central 1-1 at Ravenna: The Green Hornets needed just five innings to mercy Muskegon Heights 10-0 in the first game of the Ravenna district Saturday. Austin Edwards was the winning pitcher, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out 11. But Central was shut out by Kent City in the final 2-0. Micah Parr gave up five hits and two walks, striking out four. Hunter Myers and Forest Bartz each had one hit for the Hornets. Record: 8-16. Next: Central’s season is over.

Softball

Rockford 15, Greenville 0: The Yellow Jackets committed four errors in getting mercied in five innings by the Rams at Rockford’s district tournament Saturday. Sarah Newhouse took the loss for Greenville, as she struck out two and walked four. Nikota Howe, Liz Niemic, Page Parmelee and Beth Gantz each had one for the Yellow Jackets. Record: 12-23. Next: Greenville’s season is over.

Central falls in district final: The Green Hornets mercied Muskegon Heights 16-1 in three innings to get to the final of the Ravenna district tournament Saturday, benefitting from nine walks. Sadie Rowland got the win, pitching the first two innings and allowing one hit and a walk with a strikeout. Rowland took the loss in the second game against Kent City, which was a 7-1 loss. Rowland went 2 1/3 innings and allowed seven hits, struck out one and hit two batters without a walk. Karli Clark, Maddie Christensen and Michaela Crooks each had one hit for Central. Record: 14-23. Next: Central’s season is over.

Erin Vanderzand took the loss, going all six innings and giving up 11 hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Estelle Molitor went 2-for-3 for the Wildcats. Record: 17-17. Next: Lakeview’s season is over.
